From My So Kitsch Closet with Dressed to Kill Clothing

Recently I was super freaking lucky and won one of those give-away share contest thingies on Instagram (shameless plug follow me @devynbeth)  with Dressed to Kill Clothing!  I have followed Dressed to Kill, an online rockabilly/vintage reproduction style boutique, for a while on ig because they have the cutest clothes ever...  I haven't had the chance to place an order yet, because I have been blowing my spending cash on old ceramic anthropomorphic figurines from japan (kitsch life.)  I was BEYOND excited when I found out I was being gifted the cutest t-shirt ever! You can get one just like it for yourself by clicking HERE!
This vintage style tee is vintage fit and made of the softest cotton ever.  It has an adorable Western scene that features a tired cowboy riding the range next to the biggest cactus ever.  Its the perfect tee to transition from Summer to Fall, it could easily be styled for both seasons.  I went for an  "in between the seasons" look as that is basically what early September is.. not quite Fall, but not really Summer either.  I paired the tee with a high waist denim skirt that I scored thrifting for only $1, and a pair of green tooled leather wedges.  I stacked up some bangles on my wrist and grabbed a vintage wicker hand bag to finish it off.

This outfit was fun, easy, and super comfortable,  even my dog, Leo, needed to jump into the picture, because he was so intimidated by the tee's cuteness, he needed to remind it, that he is actually the cutest.. but I was like "apples and oranges, Leo.. you can be the cutest dog, and it can be the cutest t-shirt"
Anyway, if you want some super fun, super adorable vintage style clothes, head over to Dressed to Kill right now..   These are some items I am swooning over, and definitely putting on my wish list  *hint hint to anyone who may be wondering what I want for Christmas or my birthday**

My So Kitsch Life-- Premiere Post

I am excited to announce that I am getting back into the blogging world! (YAY!)  Instead of picking back up from almost a year hiatus from my other blog www.mavynmom.blogspot.com, I decided to begin fresh.  I started Mavyn Mom almost 8 years ago and really I am a totally different person than who I was then.  My kids are now older,  my daughter is in 7th grade, and my son is in 2nd grade... I am no longer concerned about potty training tips and tricks to get them settled down for nap time any more. I am no longer a stay at home mom.. I am back in the workplace (not loving it, but not hating it either,)  and I am really finally getting to really evolve and find out what it is I love in life, and sure, my family is something I love, but  I now have more time and more energy for myself, as my children are now becoming more and more self-sufficient.

I have been thinking about getting back into blogging for a while now.. but the subject matter and over all theme of what I wanted my blog to be just burst into a bright lightbulb above my head today.. while I was singing in the shower.  First, I was singing Black Hole Sun by Blind Melon,  which made me think of my high school days, which made me think of the best yet short lived 90s tv show ever.. My So Called Life.... that show was sooo my life back then.... anyway... I was also thinking about the adorable chalkware fish that I just hung on my bathroom wall.. and how much I love every thing Kitsch and old... and then BAMMM!!!  It hit me, like a well mashed up song from Glee...  "My So Kitsch Life"   DO YOU LOVE IT??? Because I do!!!   I realize that my love of kitsch effects my fashion choices, my hairstyles, my decor, and even who I tend to choose as friends.  Even my kids are being raised to look for Miller Chalkware and ladyhead vases.

So my hopes for this blog is that it is a place where I can share with you the love and joy I find in all aspects of a kitsch life.  What is "Kitsch" you ask?  Well to me its, the non serious, super silly, adorable, fun and novelty items that make the world a happier place.  K is for "Kute"  (okay i know.. its cute with a C.. but throw me a bone)  I is for "Interesting"--especially with vintage items, kitsch things are always a little unique)  T is for "tacky"--but in a good way, S is for "Silly" --we all need a break from the seriousness of life, C is for "collectible"-- kitsch is always best when multiplied, and H is for "Happy" --because really, that is why I love all the kitsch.. because it makes me feel happy!
I hope you stick around and enjoy watching this new blog baby grow!  I have some really exciting ideas for "My So Kitsch Life"
